The centre is located in Ruai area near the chief’s office. Social workers and some of the members of the women program identify needy cases and bring them to the rescue center.
Once brought to the center, the children are taught how to read and write, and later on, parents are encouraged to take them to public nursery schools to start their primary education. JALI Sisters does not pay school fees for any children except in very specific cases. Our work is to offer initial help to the child and empower the mother to take responsibility as a parent. The children stay at home on weekends so as to bond with the parents and interact with other children during play time.
